Yamaha MT-15 Launch Nears As India TVC Leaks [Video]

2019 Yamaha MT-15 Launch

The TV commercial of the upcoming Yamaha MT-15 has been leaked, revealing that the launch of this bike is very near.

The Indian MT-15 will use some different parts than the global version

Yamaha is going to launch the MT-15 very soon and the Indian TVC of the bike has been leaked. It seems that the video was shown at a closed meet but has now been removed. Some dealers have even started accepting bookings for the bike and it is expected to be launched in March 2019.

The India-spec Yamaha MT-15 will be slightly different from the global version. The Indian bike will get telescopic forks instead of USD forks. It will get a similar looking LED headlight but it is likely that few other parts will also be different.

The instrument cluster seems to be similar to the Yamaha R15 V3. The MT-15 gets 17-inch wheels with 100-section tyre at the front and 140-section tyre at the rear. The Indian version of the MT-15 will get a 155cc, single-cyl, liquid-cooled engine with Variable Valve Actuation, producing 19 HP and 15 Nm. The engine will come mated to a 6-speed gearbox.

The pricing of the Yamaha MT-15 in India is expected to be between Rs. 1.20-1.30 lakhs and it will give competition to the Bajaj Pulsar 200 NS and Hero Xtreme 200R.
