Yamaha XTZ 125 Spotted In India, Launch Soon?

The Yamaha XTZ 125 adventure bike has been spotted undergoing testing.

The XTZ 125 could be a good offering as a budget off-road bike

The Yamaha XTZ 125 was spotted on test rounds by MotorBeam reader Manigandan Rajesh. As seen in the images, the bike isn’t wearing any camouflage and to be honest it looks quite striking. The motocross styling does look very attractive. However the number plate points to Bajaj Auto likely to be testing this motorcycle for benchmarking.

Powering the Yamaha XTZ 125 is a single-cyl, 4-stroke, 124cc engine producing 12.5 HP at 8000 RPM and 11.5 Nm at 6500 RPM. This off-road bike comes with a carburettor and gets an air-cooling system. The engine is mated to a 5-speed gearbox.

For suspension duties, the XTZ 125 gets telescopic forks up front and a swingarm at the rear. While the front tyre is 21-inches in size, the rear one is an 18-incher. For braking, it gets a disc at the front and drum at the rear.

The Yamaha XTZ 125 weighs in at around 118 kgs and has a ground clearance of 260 mm. The fuel tank has a capacity of 11-litres and the seat height is 840 mm.

We aren’t sure when will Yamaha launch this off-road bike in India, but whenever launched, it will compete with the likes of the RE Himalayan because we hardly have any choices available in this segment under Rs. 2 lakhs.
