2013 Ford Fiesta Sedan Facelift Spied

It is no secret that the Ford Fiesta is up for a facelift soon. The American automaker launched the sixth generation Fiesta in 2008 and now the vehicle is up for a mid-life mild facelift. The company has already showcased the new Fiesta hatchback in the form of the Fiesta ST. Now Ford’s focus has shifted to the sedan version which was spotted around the Nurburgring. The 2013 Ford Fiesta is being tested with heavy camouflage and is expected to be unveiled to the public at the upcoming Paris Motor Show this September. An Indian launch could occur sometime next year.

The current Ford Fiesta is a looker and the new one will totally blow the competition away as far as styling goes. The front gets major revisions and is influenced by Aston Martin. Ford owned Aston Martin earlier and the engineers have used a similar design language on the new Mondeo as well. So the exteriors will now feature new head lights, new bumpers, new grille, new boot-lid, new alloys and minor changes to the interiors. There are some mechanical changes to the new Fiesta as well, with Ford doing away with the 1.6-litre petrol engine in favor of the 1.0-litre EcoBoost engine which produces 125 PS of power.

Ford India can take this opportunity to revise prices of the Fiesta sedan to compete aggressively with rivals such as the Hyundai Verna and Volkswagen Vento. The American automaker can also slip in the EcoBoost engine into the hood of the Fiesta, which would give the Fiesta cost advantages along with a boost in fuel efficiency. Ford will be producing the EcoBoost engine for the EcoSport in India, so its very likely that the Fiesta will receive the small capacity EcoBoost petrol motor. We recently came up with a rendering of the Ford Fiesta facelift, which can be viewed below.
