2015 Mahindra Quanto AMT Caught Testing In Chandigarh

The Mahindra Quanto AMT was first showcased at the 2014 Auto Expo

As part of the Mahindra compact SUV onslaught for the year, the Indian auto giant will be launching not one but three compact SUVs this year which include the S101, U301 and the heavily re-engineered Quanto compact SUV, the latter being Mahindra’s original offering in the compact space. Ahead of the launch in the second half of the year, the Quanto facelift was caught testing with the AMT unit that might just help the model establish sales in the segment.

The images of the Mahindra Quanto AMT were snapped by our eagle-eyed reader Shiva Soi in Chandigarh as the company continues testing the Quanto across the length and breadth of the country. The Quanto AMT was first showcased at the Auto Expo last year and is one of the many extensive changes planned on the SUV. The model also gets redesigned exteriors with revised headlights, grille and bumpers along with new alloy wheels. The model will also be feature loaded with an updated audio system, Bluetooth telephony and voice command activation.

Mahindra is also said to have improved on the extensive body roll with a revised suspension and addition of extra bushes and a rear stability bar. Power though will continue to come from the 1.5-litre 3-cylinder diesel engines under the hood with 100 PS and 240 Nm of torque. The 5-speed manual gearbox also gets no change, More details on the updated Quanto AMT are expected to follow in the coming months as we get closer to the launch.
