The 2015 Camry Hybrid facelift is visually similar to the regular Camry

After unveiling the 2015 Camry facelift last month at the Moscow Auto Show, Toyota has unveiled the Camry Hybrid for the 2015 model year that gets updated along the lines of the petrol only powered version. Visually, there is not much of a difference between the regular Camry and the updated hybrid version. Nonetheless, you do get the blue glow on the Toyota logo, Hybrid badge on the front fenders and Hybrid Synergy Drive badging on the rear to differentiate from the regular version.

Inside the cabin, the 2015 Toyota Camry Hybrid gets the new 3-spoke steering wheel as well as the revised instrument console that gets equipped with a new colour MID display, which puts the Hybrid Synergy drive information status on the screen. Under the hood, the 2015 Camry Hybrid continues with the same 2.5-litre Atkinson cycle, 4-cylinder engine that produces 160 PS of power at 5700 RPM and 213 Nm of torque at 4500 RPM. With The Hybrid Synergy (THS) II system, the engine is coupled to an electric motor that is capable of producing 143 PS of power and 270 Nm of torque.

The combined output generated from both the powerplants comes to 205 PS of power via the torque split device. Toyota claims that the fuel efficiency has also improved on the 2015 Camry Hybrid facelift that now delivers 25.4 km/l, as opposed to the pre-facelift model’s 23.4 km/l, as per the Japanese test cycle. However, the figure is restricted to the base model only with 16-inch alloy wheels, the top-end variant sporting 17-inch rims continues to deliver 23.4 km/l. The Indian spec Camry Hybrid on the other hand delivers an ARAI certified figure of 19.16 km/l.

Toyota India brings the Camry and Camry Hybrid models via the CKD route in the country and the same will continue for the 2015 facelifted models as well. While the timeline for launch is not known, both the models will be launched next year in India with the regular Camry being launched in the first half of the year.
