2017 Chevrolet Essentia Caught Testing In Pune

The 2017 Chevrolet Essentia has been spotted undergoing testing in Pune and the compact sedan will be launched in early 2017.

The Chevrolet Essentia will come with the same petrol and diesel engines from the Beat

Chevrolet had showcased the Essentia at the 2016 Auto Expo and the vehicle is basically a compact sedan based on the Beat which is already on sale in the market. The vehicle that was shown was a concept but the final production version is likely to carry forward most of the design cues.

The Chevrolet Essentia is a sub 4-metre sedan. The front fascia will have a similar silhouette as the Beat but it will come with updated headlamps, grille and bumper. The same changes will be carried over to the new Beat too. The side profile has a quirky stance while the rear seems to be well-designed.

The interiors will again be similar to the Beat, but will come with some changes like an all-beige layout, new instrument cluster and a touchscreen audio system. The AC vents also get a new design while the sedan will miss out on automatic climate control. The vehicle will also miss out on electrically adjustable ORVMs.

The vehicle has been spotted undergoing testing rounds in Pune. It will be launched in India in early 2017 and will come with the same 1.2-litre petrol and 1.0-litre diesel engines that also power the Beat. The Chevrolet Essentia will compete with the Hyundai Xcent, Ford Figo Aspire, Tata Zest, Maruti Swift DZire, Honda Amaze and Volkswagen Ameo.
