2018 Avenger 220 Cruise Spotted On Test

The 2018 Avenger 220 Cruise has been spied on test ahead of its launch in India.

The 2018 Avenger gets no mechanical changes

The 2018 Bajaj Avenger 220 Cruise has been spotted on test runs recently. Launched initially in 2005, the Avenger is an entry-level cruiser bike which was unrivalled for over 10 years in India until Suzuki came in to steal the party. The motorcycle is set for a launch soon and is expected to come with cosmetic changes only. However, there have been reports that the Avenger 150 will be replaced by the Avenger 180. Bajaj is yet to confirm this.

The test mule spotted is camouflaged but still reveals some details. The spy images you see here are of the Avenger 220 Cruise variant courtesy the spoked wheels, the large windscreen and the long handlebar. The bike is expected to get a full digital instrument cluster. The classic chrome-rimmed round design will be retained and the fuel tank also gets a digital display (most probably like the Dominar) just above the fuel cap. Other features include LED tail-light, revised fuel-tank cap, revised seating and a single-channel ABS.

Braking and suspension hardware remains like before, disc brake up front, drum unit at the rear and telescopic forks up front and twin shocks at the rear. Mechanicals too remain unchanged. The Avenger 220 will continue to be powered by a 220cc single-cylinder motor that produces 19.03 PS of power and 17.5 Nm of torque while the Avenger 180 will be powered by a 180cc single-cylinder engine which is likely to output 15-16 HP of power and 14-15 Nm of torque.
