2020 Renault Duster Facelift Spied In India

The Renault Duster will get another facelift and it’ll also become BS6 compliant now.

The 2020 Renault Duster SUV facelift begins testing in India

It looks like Renault has been working on a new facelifted Duster SUV for 2020, which will be sold in the Indian market. The current generation Duster will receive all necessary upgrades to making it ready for the upcoming safety and emission norms. The automaker won’t be launching the new generation Duster that is on sale in international markets.

The Renault Duster needs to meet the Pedestrian Protection safety norms. For that, it gets a higher bonnet, allowing space between the lid and the inside components. The new bonnet design will make the front of the Duster more forgiving in case of a mishap with a pedestrian.

The facelifted version of the Renault Duster also gets new bumpers and a redesigned grille. The headlight seems to be similar to the current generation Duster which might get LED DRLs. A sunroof could be on offer on the top variants. The facelifted Duster will be equipped with standard rear parking sensors, passenger seat-belt alert and high speed warning. It already clears the crash norms. The interior is expected to host a few significant updates like an all-new infotainment system.

Renault will only upgrade the 1.5-litre 110 HP variant of the Duster SUV to BS6. The 85 HP variant is likely to be discontinued. The Duster petrol engine will also be updated to meet the BS6 norms and will be available alongside the diesel variant. The transmission duties are likely to be served by a 6-speed manual gearbox for the diesel and a 5-speed manual for the petrol. The diesel engine will get the same AMT too, while the petrol engine gets a CVT.
