2021 Mahindra XUV500 Spied, Headlight Cluster Seen Clearly

The new lighting signature will give the car its own look

The 2021 Mahindra XUV500 has been spied once again and this time, we get a clearer view of how the car’s headlight design is like.

As can be seen from the spy shots, the development mule’s headlight cluster is clearly visible and the unit has LED DRLs incorporated into it.

Also, it features new signature DRL that looks to have evolved from the one present on the XUV300. The part above the headlights might double up as blinkers.

Mahindra has also inserted a design element in the black portion in the cluster, which, it must be said, looks rather good, especially with the ‘J’ shaped side portion of the DRL.

Due to the camouflage peeling off, we can also see the bonnet line that runs from the grille to the ‘A’ pillar. Also, the car looks sharp and sheds the rounded styling theme of its predecessor, which is again in tune with the times.

While the rear profile cannot be seen, we do have a clear view of the side profile that has the distinctive kink over the rear wheels.

This 2021 Mahindra XUV500 spied prototype looks to be one with good specs for it also features a panoramic sunroof.

No interior image of the spied car is available, but we have already reported about how the interior will look like, which can be read here.

To put it shortly, the car will come with Mercedes-esque digital screens, modern dash design, electronic parking brake and a whole host of latest features.

Expect Mahindra to offer several variants, with the one situated at the top to be brimmed to capacity.

Powering the car would be two engines (1.5-litre and 2.0-litre turbo petrols) from the mStallion and one (2.2-litre diesel motor) from mHawk families.

It is said that Mahindra is also developing an all-new 2.0-litre turbo diesel that will make its debut with the 2021 XUV500 and will power the higher-spec variants.

Scheduled to be launched before the end of Q1 next year, the new XUV500 will face competition from the Tata Harrier, MG Hector Plus, among other SUVs.
