2021 MG ZS EV Launched, Priced From Rs. 20.99 Lakhs

In all, the car can be had in either of the 3 colour options on offer

MG Motor India has launched the 2021 ZS EV in India with a starting price tag of Rs. 20.99 lakhs (ex-showroom, New Delhi), today.

This updated version of the EV comes with a 44.5 kWh battery and has a certified range of 419 km. However, MG claims users can get between 300 km and 400 km range in most situations.

The electric SUV has a maximum power and torque output of 143 PS and 350 Nm and has the capability to do the 0-100 km/hr sprint in 8.5 seconds.

Further, the vehicle has received a new set of 17-inch wheels (215/55-section tyres) and has also seen its ground clearance increase to 177 mm (205 mm battery pack clearance).

Available in 2 variants, namely – Excite and Exclusive, the car can now be booked in 31 cities, owing to the carmaker expanding the charging ecosystem across the country.

MG has partnered with 10 firms for the ZS EV ecosystem for services such as home charging, office charging and DC fast charging infrastructure, apart from battery storage and recycling when the packs are at the end of their life cycle.

No changes have been made either to the exterior or the interior of the car and it continues to be offered with projector headlights, LED tail lamps, 8-inch touchscreen, cruise control, panoramic sunroof, rear-view camera, among others, and a whole host of safety features.

While revealing the 2021 MG ZS EV price, the carmaker noted that it will extend its customers a 5-way charging ecosystem including free-of-cost AC fast-charger at residences/offices, portable in-car charging cable, DC superfast charging stations at dealerships, 24×7 charge-on-the-go facility (in 5 cities), and charging stations in satellite cities and tourist hubs.

The EV is covered under MG eShield which will get customers 5-year/unlimited km warranty, 8-year/1.5 lakh kilometre battery pack warranty, Roadside Assistance (RSA) for 5 years, and 5 labour-free services.

In addition, MG has also introduced the “EcoTree Challenge”, wherein ZS EV owners can track their CO2 savings and national ranking in real-time.
