2022 Maruti Baleno Teaser
The premium hatchback is the undisputed segment leader

Maruti Suzuki’s 2022 Baleno will be offered in 4 different variants

The 2022 Maruti Baleno will be launched this month and bookings for the premium hatchback has commenced across the nation already.

With its launch drawing close, more information about the 2022 Baleno, including the number of variants on offer, has come to the fore. The car will be sold in 4 grades – Sigma, Delta, Zeta and Alpha.

The number of variants has not been changed this time around. All variants will feature the 5-speed manual gearbox, while barring the entry-level grade, the other trims will come with the option of a 5-speed AMT.

Yup, the Baleno will no longer come with a CVT option, which should result in a drop in the price difference between the car’s manual and automatic variants.

However, the premium hatchback’s engine options – 1.2-litre Dual Jet (88.5 BHP and 113 Nm) with 12 V mild-hybrid assistance and a 1.2-litre K12N (82 BHP and 113 Nm) petrol – should be carried forward as is.

Hopefully this revised model would come with better safety credentials

In addition, the 2022 Baleno will be offered with 6 colour choices such as – Celestial Blue, Grandeur Grey, Luxe Beige, Opulent Red, Pearl Arctic White and Splendid Silver. There will be no dual tone option.

It was recently revealed that the heavily revised hatchback will be offered with a head-up display. Moreover, the Baleno will also be sold with LED lights, an updated exterior, redesigned interior with a bigger touchscreen, among several other features.

While details of the 2022 Maruti Baleno variants, colour choices and even transmission options are out, what is unknown is when the car will be launched in the market.

The car’s price announcement is expected to happen in the fourth week of this month. The 2022 Toyota Glanza, on the other hand. is likely to be introduced in the market next month with the same set of upgrades as the 2022 Baleno.
