2026 Kawasaki Z1100 Launched, Powered By 1099cc Inline Four Cylinder Engine
Kawasaki has launched the all-new MY26 Z1100 in India at ₹12.79 lakh (ex-showroom), positioning it as the flagship model in the brand’s naturally aspirated Supernaked lineup. With this launch, Kawasaki celebrates over 50 years of the iconic Z lineage, which began in 1972 with the revolutionary Kawasaki Z1. Competing directly with the Honda CB1000 Hornet SP (₹13.29 lakh), the Z1100 aims to redefine the litre-class naked performance segment.
Built around Kawasaki’s aggressive Sugomi design philosophy, the Z1100 continues the visual identity seen on the Z1000, with a crouched stance, compact bodywork, and the signature low front end. The styling blends raw power with sharp precision, staying true to the Z spirit while adopting modern refinements.
Styling
The 2026 Z1100 continues Kawasaki’s renowned Sugomi design language, characterised by a low, predatory front, crouched stance, and flowing lines that evoke motion even at a standstill. The minimalist bodywork, sharp tank extensions, and compact tail section emphasise power and precision. While the headlamp design draws inspiration from the Z1000, the Z1100 incorporates updated detailing and aggressive creases that highlight its muscular streetfighter persona. The overall design radiates intensity, control, and unmistakable Z-series attitude.
Engine
Powering the new Z1100 is a 1099cc liquid-cooled inline-four engine delivering 136 PS at 9000 rpm and 113 Nm of torque at 7600 rpm. The motor has been tuned for stronger low- to mid-range performance, offering instant throttle response and seamless acceleration across the rev band. Paired with a 6-speed gearbox featuring an Assist & Slipper Clutch, the Z1100 ensures smoother downshifts and reduced rider fatigue during spirited riding.
Suspension & Chassis
The motorcycle rides on a twin-tube aluminium frame, engineered for improved rigidity and superior mass centralisation. Suspension duties are handled by a 41 mm adjustable inverted front fork with compression, rebound, and preload settings, while the rear features a Horizontal Backlink gas-charged mono-shock with preload and rebound adjustability. This setup delivers a balance of agility and stability, ideal for street aggression and high-speed cornering.
Braking
Braking performance is ensured by dual 310 mm semi-floating front discs with radial-mount callipers and a 260 mm rear disc. The braking hardware is designed to offer sharp bite and consistent stopping power, suitable for high-performance urban riding and fast highway runs. Kawasaki’s intelligent electronics work behind the scenes to optimise braking feel and enhance rider confidence.
Features & Electronics
The Z1100 packs a focused suite of electronics designed to enhance rider control while preserving the raw Supernaked experience. Key features include:
- Multiple riding modes
- Traction control system optimised for spirited riding
- Assist & Slipper clutch
- Full LED lighting setup
- Ergonomic 815mm seat height for a balanced and aggressive riding posture
The motorcycle’s compact dimensions and muscular profile contribute to its commanding street presence, while the sculpted tank and wide handlebar ensure a connected and engaging ride.
