Ashok Leyland Stile Facelift To Launch Soon

Due to poor sales, Ashok Leyland has decided to re-launch the Stile MPV with an updated avatar. The commercial vehicle maker sold only 311 units of the Stile in the April 2014-January 2015 period.

Ashok Leyland is planning to launch a revised version of the Stile MPV

The Ashok Leyland Stile is a rebadged version of the Nissan Evalia targeted primarily at the commercial segment. The MPV is not doing well for the commercial vehicle maker, as it saw poor sales of only 311 units in the April 2014-January 2015 period. In the same period, previous year, Ashok Leyland sold 694 units soon after the launch of the Stile. Ashok Leyland is the second largest truck and bus maker in India and they accept that they have no done well with the Stile.

Now, Ashok Leyland has planned a re-launch of the Stile in an updated avatar to woo buyers. The basic problem with the volumes of the Stile is the reach. The MPV is sold alongside the trucks and buses in the same dealerships and the Ashok Leyland retail outlets are mostly situated outside city limits. Consequently, the distribution network is not working well for the Nissan Evalia based MPV. Forget Ashok Leyland, even Nissan is finding it difficult to sell the Evalia.

We can expect some visual changes and new features with the Ashok Leyland Stile facelift. The company hasn’t revealed the launch details but we expect it to come later this year, near the festive season. We have driven the Stile earlier and it’s quite a practical car for the targeted buyers. It is quite spacious, offers good ride quality with a refined and frugal Renault k9k diesel engine. However, the company has cut costs giving basic features and no safety (No ABS, EBD, Airbags). You can read our review HERE.

The Stile looks quite bland having basic interior features on offer
