Bajaj Avenger 220 Street Launched, Priced At Rs. 1.29 Lakhs

Bajaj Auto has officially announced the pricing of the Avenger 220 Street after recently adding the motorcycle to its website. The cruiser has been launched at Rs. 1.29 lakhs (ex-showroom), positioning it slightly above the Avenger 220 Cruise in the company’s lineup.

The new variant reintroduces the “Street” badge to the Avenger family, this time paired with the larger 220cc platform. While the Avenger Street name was previously associated with the smaller 160cc model, that version has since been discontinued.

Compared to the Avenger 220 Cruise, the Street adopts a more urban-focused design approach. One of the key changes is the use of alloy wheels fitted with tubeless tyres, replacing the wire-spoke wheels and tube-type tyres found on the Cruise. The tyre dimensions remain unchanged.

The motorcycle also features a revised headlamp assembly with an integrated LED daytime running light positioned along the lower section. Additional styling revisions include fork gaiters, a compact flyscreen and a blacked-out treatment for the engine and exhaust components.

Bajaj has equipped the Avenger 220 Street with a flatter handlebar positioned lower than the one on the Cruise variant. However, the footpeg placement remains unchanged, preserving the relaxed cruiser riding posture.

The accessible 737 mm seat height continues to be a key feature, making the motorcycle approachable for a wide range of riders. Despite its stripped-back appearance, the Street tips the scales at 163 kg kerb weight, making it slightly heavier than the Cruise.

Powering the Avenger 220 Street is the same 220cc single-cylinder, oil-cooled engine used in the Cruise. The motor produces 19 HP and 17.5 Nm of torque and is paired with a 5-speed gearbox.

The motorcycle is available in two paint options: Ebony Black and Cocktail Wine Red.

With the addition of alloy wheels, tubeless tyres and revised styling elements, the Avenger 220 Street offers buyers an alternative take on Bajaj’s long-running cruiser platform while retaining the familiar mechanical package.
