Bajaj Chetak Electric Scooter Video

Bajaj Chetak deliveries will now resume from September this year.

Bajaj Chetak production halted, deliveries delayed

The Bajaj Chetak electric scooter was launched in January this year. The popular nameplate made a comeback after a lot of years and the Indian bike maker decided to introduce it to the market in a phased manner.

Within 15 days of bookings being open, Bajaj Auto received over 2000 bookings for the Chetak. They delivered the first batch of Chetak but now the deliveries have been delayed.

Due to the worldwide pandemic situation and lockdown in many countries including India, the production and supply chain of parts have been affected.

Bajaj imports the battery pack and motor of the Chetak from Bosch in Germany. Since there is no supply from other countries happening, there will be a prolonged effect of this in Chetak’s production for a long time.

Bajaj Auto recently scheduled the deliveries to June of scooters booked by 29th February. However, the Indian bike maker will now resume the deliveries of Chetak in September.

The Bajaj Chetak is available with two variants – Urbane and Premium. It comes with a starting price of Rs. 1 lakh (ex-showroom).
