Ducati Rolls Out 1 Millionth Motorcycle From Borgo Panigale Plant

The Borgo Panigale plant was established in 1946 and it took 7 decades for Ducati to produce the 1 millionth motorcycle at the facility.

The 1 millionth motorcycle to be produced at the plant was the Ducati Monster 1200 S

World’s second oldest motorcycle maker (first being Benelli), Ducati achieved a significant milestone as it produced its one millionth motorcycle at the Borgo Panigale plant in Italy. The millionth Ducati to roll out of the production line was the iconic street-fighter ‘Monster 1200 S’ that was handed over to the very lucky Ernesto Passoni, a Ducatista, directly by Claudio Domenicali, CEO of Ducati Motor Holding with Prof. Rupert Stadler (Audi Group CEO) and Luca de Meo (Member of the Board for Marketing and Sales, Audi AG) also gracing the event.

Always been a Ducati loyalist, Mr. Passoni was informed by his dealer that he was the recipient of the 1 millionth Ducati to be produced. His loyalty was also rewarded with a special value addition in the form of a special customisation that saw a laser serigraph on the top of the handlebar bracket showing the chronological number reached by production at the legendary Borgo Panigale facility. Established in 1946, it took the facility seven decades to produce the 1 millionth motorcycle.

Ducati stated that from 1946, the Italian motorcycle maker has designed, built and delivered one million dreams that have become reality to Ducati fans. With the Ducati Monster being the one millionth motorcycle to roll out, the automaker added that the bike identifies the brilliance, originality, technology and style of Ducati twin-cylinder bikes all around the world and has written a fundamental chapter in the now Audi owned Italian manufacturer’s legacy.

Coming to the Ducati Monster 1200 S, the naked motorcycle is equipped with a 1198 Testastretta 11-degree DS engine that produces 145 HP of power and has a dry weight of 182 kgs. The state-of-the-art bike comes with 8 levels of traction control, 3 levels of ABS, 3 levels of Ride-by-Wire Ducati riding modes among other salient features.

The 1 millionth Ducati also features a special laser serigraph that signifies its importance
