Fiesta Classic & Previous Gen Figo Recalled In India

Ford Figo Handling Review

The Fiesta Classic and previous gen Figo recalled in India to fix the steering hose.

The Fiesta Classic and previous generation Figo have been recalled in India to inspect and replace the power steering hose

Ford India has recalled the Fiesta Classic and previous generation Figo hatchback to inspect and replace the power steering hose on all affected vehicles. Both the cars made at the company’s Chennai facility between 2004 and 2012 could be affected by a potential concern related to high-pressure power steering hose.

It is estimated that 39,315 units of both the Fiesta Classic and previous generation Figo could be affected by this issue. Ford says the power steering fluid could come in contact with the vehicle’s exhaust system thereby causing smoke and in extremely rare cases could lead to the vehicle catching fire.

Also, this isn’t the first time Ford is recalling these vehicles. In September 2013, Ford had issued a recall of over 1.66 lakh units of the Fiesta Classic and previous generation Figo manufactured and sold between January 2010 and August 2010 and from March 2011 to November 2011 for an issue related to the steering hose and rear suspension. Ford will reach out to affected customers via its dealerships.
