Hero MotoCorp Silently Launches Passion Pro TR

Unveiled at the 2014 Auto Expo in February this year, Hero MotoCorp has silently launched the Passion Pro TR in India. Based on the Passion Pro 100 motorcycle, the Passion Pro TR is a rugged off-roadesque version that gets subtle additions making the bike well equipped to handle rough roads. Compared to the standard version, the Passion Pro TR sports a host of upgrades such as sturdier handlebars with cross brace, a headlight grille, knuckle guards, knee pads, on-off road tyres, bash plate to shield the engine and a higher front fender with tyre hugger.

Aesthetically, the Hero Passion Pro TR sports new body graphics, all black alloy wheels and a glossy black exhaust cover, however, no changes have been made to the design of the bike. Powering the rugged Passion Pro TR is the same tried and tested 97.2cc engine from the standard version producing 7.8 PS of power at 7500 RPM and 8.04 Nm of torque at 4500 RPM, paired to a 4-speed gearbox. The motorcycle continues with the same telescopic shock absorbers in the front and a 5-step swingarm adjustable shocks at the rear, while stopping power comes from a 240 mm disc brake in the front and a drum brake setup at the rear.

The Passion Pro TR weighs in at 119 kgs and has a fuel tank capacity of 12.8-litres. Hero is offering the Pro TR rugged version with a choice of three colours namely electric blue, sports red and a dual-tone shade of black with sports red. Even though the Passion Pro TR may not be a true-blue off-roader as one would desire for, it does make a practical buy for folks living in rural or semi-urban markets. The Passion Pro TR is priced at Rs. 53,531/- which is marginally higher than the Passion Pro that is priced at Rs. 52,480 (ex-showroom, Mumbai).
