Honda Electric 2-Wheeler Testing To Begin In India In 2020

Honda will substructure its EV journey in India on customer feedback.

The electric test vehicle will not be the PCX scooter

Keeping up with the electric revolution in India, HMSI is likely to begin testing an EV later in 2020 which will be imported from China. It won’t be the PCX though. It comes at a time when Honda’s other rivals have already vocalised plans to launch electric scooters or bikes in the Indian market.

While Bajaj became the first large volume two-wheeler maker to enter the electric vehicle space with the launch of the Chetak others like TVS Motor Company, Hero Motocorp, Suzuki and Yamaha will follow suit in the coming period.

Honda will base its EV journey in India on customer feedback. The company is also waiting for the charging infrastructure to come up before taking the plunge. Honda is believed to have showcased the PCX electric scooter in some of its India’s showrooms to gauge consumer response. The same two-wheeler was also present at the 2018 Auto Expo.
