Honda Starts 2015 CBR250R Exports From India, Launch Soon

The 2015 Honda CBR250R gets the flagship CBR Fire-Blade inspired styling along with increase in power from the same 249cc engine.

The 2015 CBR250R now produces 29 PS of power and 23 Nm of torque

Recent data shows that Honda India has commenced bulk exports of the 2015 CBR250R under the codename ‘3LA’, hinting towards an imminent launch in the country in the coming months. All charged up to launch 10 new and updated products in India this year, the new CBR250R holds an important place in Honda’s lineup as the bike will be getting a host of changes with most significant being the updated cosmetics.

The 2015 Honda CBR250R dawns a completely new look inspired from the flagship CBR Fire Blade, in contrast to the VFR styling seen on the outgoing version. The 2015 model gets a dual headlight cluster, revised and more angular fairing along with a new angle for seats and repositioned foot pegs that are aimed at providing enhanced rider comfort. We also expect to see a marginal improvement in the plastics around the bike that have been criticized for their sub-level quality on the current version.

While Honda India has refrained from getting the bigger CBR300R, the quarter-litre offering draws power from the same 249cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine now tuned to produce 29 PS of power at 9000 RPM and 23 Nm of torque at 7500 RPM, paired to a 6-speed transmission. In addition, the 2015 CBR250R will also get Combined ABS (C-ABS) along with front and rear disc brakes available as standard.

The tail section gets no changes as such and retains the styling of the outgoing model including the chrome finished exhaust muffler. Honda should keep the price update to a minimum on the 2015 CBR250R in order to keep the sports bike out of the KTM Duke 390’s territory. The sports bike though will surely be cheaper than the RC 390, its direct competitor, even in the top-of-the-line Repsol edition. Prices for the outgoing CBR250R start at Rs. 1.59 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi).

The 2015 Honda CBR250R certainly looks a lot better in the Fire Blade inspired front
