Hyundai Revealed The Facelifted IONIQ 6 & IONIQ 6 N Line In Seoul Mobility Show

Hyundai has revealed the IONIQ 6 facelift at the Seoul Mobility Show. The new EV sedan now gets a sportier N Line treatment, catering to the enthusiasts. The refreshed EV stays largely the same with a sleeker design, but is mechanically unchanged. The IONIQ 6 has been refreshed in less than 3 years since its launch.

Stylistic Changes

The IONIQ 6 is based on the RN22e Rolling Lab. The refreshed model gets sleeker headlights, with the morsecode motif, in line with the IONIQ design language. The bumper gets a revised design with a new splitter and raised hood at the front, aiding aerodynamics.

The IONIQ 6 N Line gets a more drastic front and rear bumper design and N Line badging all throughout. The alloy wheels are unique, as are the blacked-out body panels, giving a sportier vibe. Whilst these are stylistic enhancements, Hyundai has revealed the plans for an IONIQ 6 N, and the N Line helps to visualize the same.

Interior Changes

On the inside, the IONIQ 6 gets updates like the 3-spoke steering wheel, rearranged centre console controls and bigger screens for the dual zone climate control system. Additionally, the door trim gets new upgrades for a more luxurious feel.

There is the presence of the 12.3-inch infotainment and driver display screens, ambient lighting and vehicle-to-load (V2L) capability. The seats are 8-way electronically adjustable, and the facelifted IONIQ 6 gets new displays to replace the side mirrors with rear-view cameras.

Battery Capacity & Range

The facelifted IONIQ 6 is powered by the same 77.4 kWh and 53 kWh battery pack options as the outgoing model. The larger battery pack offers two options: a single-motor rear-wheel-drive setup producing 225 HP, and a dual-motor all-wheel-drive setup producing 321 HP. The smaller 53 kWh battery pack is only available in a single-motor setup producing 149 HP.

The charging speeds are limited to 233 kW. In terms of range, Hyundai hasn’t revealed any specifications. However, the previous IONIQ 6 could travel up to 614 Km on a single charge. It can be expected that there will be an increase in range over the same figure.

Outlook

Hyundai has remained tight-lipped regarding details about the exact launch date. However, it is safe to assume that the IONIQ 6 will be available in the European markets in the coming months. The possibility of the IONIQ 6 launching in India remains slim. It remains to be seen whether Hyundai will launch the IONIQ 6 as well as the IONIQ 6 N Line in India, catering to rising EV demand.
