Hyundai Launches Grand i10 Priced At Rs. 4.30 Lakhs [Live]

Hyundai has launched the Grand i10 in India, a new hatchback which will sit between the first gen i10 and i20. The Grand i10 is the second generation i10 but has minor differences with the global model. For India, Hyundai has given a 100 mm longer wheelbase. The Hyundai Grand i10 is offered with two engines in our country and the car is targeted at the youth aged between 25 to 30 years. The Grand i10 is available in 8 colours and Hyundai has offered a long list of features, with many of them being segment first.

The 1.2-litre Kappa petrol engine in the Hyundai Grand i10 uses Dual VTVT to produce 83 PS of power at 6000 RPM and 114 Nm of torque at 4000 RPM. It is mated to 5-speed manual and 4-speed automatic transmissions (automatic version to be launched later). The ARAI certified mileage for the petrol powered Grand i10 is 18.9 km/l. The diesel engine in the Hyundai Grand i10 is the new 1.1-litre U2 CRDi mill which outputs 71 PS of power at 4000 RPM and 160 Nm of torque at 4000 RPM. This engine is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox and boasts of class leading 24 km/l ARAI mileage.

The Hyundai Grand i10 has three segment unique features – rear AC vents, integrated 2-DIN MP3 audio system with in-built 1 GB memory and 2-tone design diamond cut alloy wheels. Other features on the Grand i10 include rear parking sensors, tilt steering, leather steering wheel, smart key with push button start/stop, multifunction steering wheel with Bluetooth, audio and trip meter controls, gearshift indicator, auto folding outside rear view mirrors with electric adjust, turn indicators on mirrors, cooled glove box, rear spoiler, auto down function for driver side power window, chrome door handles, rear defogger, rear washer and wiper, driver seat height adjust, body side moulding, roof rails, front and rear power outlets, dual airbags and ABS.

The Hyundai Grand i10 competes with the Maruti Suzuki Ritz, Honda Brio, Ford Figo and Chevrolet Beat in the Indian market. All these cars boast of similar engine size as the Grand i10 but Hyundai is trying to beat them by offering more features, space and mileage.
