Hyundai Tucson Gets New Features, Sunroof & Wireless Charging

Hyundai has introduced a new GL(O) variant in the Tucson to rival the recently launched Jeep Compass Limited Plus. Earlier the Tucson had three variants – base, GL and GLS. This new variant fits between GL and the top spec GLS variant.

The Tucson petrol GL(O) and GLS variants get a panoramic sunroof, wireless charging along with i-Blue app compatibility and the AutoLink feature for the infotainment system. However, the Tucson diesel only gets this feature on the new GL(O) variant and not on the top-spec GLS variant.

The Tucson is available in two engine options – a 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine which produces 153 BHP and 192 Nm of torque. The 2.0-litre four-cylinder diesel engine that churns out 182 BHP and 400 Nm. Both the engines get a choice of a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission. The all-wheel drive is available only on the top-spec diesel version.

The Hyundai Tucson gets various safety aids such as 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, vehicle stability management, hill assist control, brake assist, ISOFIX and electronic shift lock system.

The Tucson GL(O) petrol is priced at Rs. 22.34 lakhs and the GLS costs Rs. 23.60 lakhs. While the Tucson GL(O) diesel is priced at Rs. 24.11 lakhs. The competitor Jeep Compass Limited Plus petrol AT costs Rs. 21.41 lakhs and the 4WD diesel MT costs Rs. 22.85 lakhs (all prices, ex-showroom).
