Jaguar Deletes All Of Its Instagram Posts, Everything Uploaded Since 2012

The XJR 9 was 1 of the most aerodynamic cars of its time

1988 Le Mans winner Jaguar XJR 9 could make a grand re-entry, deletion of posts might be for something big coming

In a curious case, Jaguar has deleted all of its Instagram posts, everything posted since it opened account in 2012, and has uploaded 3 teasers of what it calls the XJR 9. The first teaser is the image of the car’s quite old wheel while the second and third ones are sections of its body panels.

All these years, Jaguar was very active on Instagram garnering over 12.6 million followers. While we don’t know how many posts were there before the deletions, the huge follower count could give you an idea about the magnitude of the posts.

Even Jaguar India’s Instagram page has hundreds of photos now. Interestingly, the posts were deleted only from the global Instagram page and not from the brand’s other social media handles including the country-specific Instagram pages.

After deleting all the posts, Jaguar has uploaded 3 teasers of the yesteryear XJR 9. For starters, the XJR 9 is the British maker’s endurance racing car which clinched the title in 1988 24 Hours of Le Mans event held at La Sarthe.

This was among the 3 photos teased on Instagram

Other than the teasers, Jaguar has been tight lipped about what’s cooking at the back. The images have been captioned Prologue, Genesis, and Flash back. We believe there could be a modern XJR 9 in the making but still we are clueless about why hundreds of posts have been deleted.

Jaguar’s Special Vehicles (SV) division has also posted the teasers on his feed further hinting at a possibility of a new revolutionary car on its way.

The luxury car marker earlier announced its bold move to become completely electric by 2025. But, still there are no concrete plans revealed yet.

The last update was about the brand unveiling its bespoke electric platform, Panthera, which is said to further raise the luxury and design standards of the future Jaguar cars. So, the deletions could also be the first step in embracing complete electrification. Fingers crossed!
