The most affordable SUV from Jeep, the Compass has been spotted at a highway in Gurgaon.
Jeep is all set to bring its newest SUV, the Compass to India this year and it will be unveiled officially on 12th April 2017. MotorBeam reader Anuj Garg spotted the car testing in Gurgaon ahead of its unveil. The SUV was heavily camouflaged.
The Jeep Compass will be the most affordable offering from the company’s stable. This SUV shall be the first Jeep product to be locally assembled in India and as a result prices will be competitive. The vehicle will also get a lot of bells and whistles on offer. Under the hood, it is likely that the Jeep Compass will be offered with the 2.0-litre MultiJet diesel engine borrowed from Fiat. The petrol engine is likely to be the 1.4-litre MultiAir unit.
The car spotted was heavily camouflaged and we could only make out the black alloys and the chrome strip running across the A and B pillars. Once launched, the Jeep Compass will go against the likes of the Hyundai Tucson, Mahindra XUV500, etc.
