EXCLUSIVE – Kia Seltos Facelift Spotted Undisguised In India

Have a look at the new larger grille, revised headlights and bumper

Kia Seltos facelift in India will get a different design than the international model

Kia Seltos facelift finally spotted undisguised in India for the first time. The production spec model has been spotted by MotorBeamer Kandarp near Kia’s manufacturing facility in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh.

The much awaited facelift reveals a lot of new details for the India-spec version which is quite different than the one we saw for the global markets.

Design

The front profile gets a new set of LED headlights with LED DRLs running into the grille. Yes, those are DRLs and not just chrome elements inside the grille. The grille itself has grown in size and gets a chrome outline.

The bumper has been revised with a more sculpted look and a new housing for three-lens fog lamps. The side profile looks the same apart from the new look of the side cladding. Sadly, the alloy wheels are lifted from the current model’s X Line trim. They look exactly the same!

There are some substantial changes at the rear. It gets a new set of tail lamps with a connected bar that runs across the width of the car. This is the GT Line as you can see the badge on the tailgate. Notice the new bumper design with dual exhaust tips that might be fake because it comes with a single exhaust outlet. The cladding integrated rear reflectors and reverse lights as well.

Interior

That’s about it for the exterior but expect some interesting bits inside. The dashboard will get a revised design with a sleeker dual screen setup measuring 10.25-inch each. We could see new upholstery colours and materials.

It is expected to come with a range of new features like a much awaited panoramic sunroof, ADAS, dual-zone climate control, wireless charger, ambient lights, ventilated front seats, electronic parking brake, etc.

Engines

Kia is expected to offer the same 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine producing 115 HP and 144 Nm along with the 1.5-litre diesel engine producing 116 HP and 250 Nm. There will be a new 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine replacing the discontinued 1.4-litre turbo. The new 1.5-litre mill produces 160 HP and 253 Nm. This will get 7-speed DCT auto and 6-speed iMT gearbox options.

Launch

The Kia Seltos facelift will compete with a wide range of cars including Hyundai Creta, Maruti Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, Skoda Kushaq, Volkswagen Taigun, MG Astor, etc. Launch is expected in the first week of July.
