The arrival of the Volkswagen Virtus could spell more trouble for the Ciaz and Verna

Maruti’s Ciaz was third in the segment as 1834 units of the sedan got retailed last month, while the Hyundai Verna (1586 units) did reasonably well. But, the Volkswagen Vento which is on its last legs fared poorly.

The Skoda Octavia remains the only car in the D-segment of the sedan market and in March 2022, it registered sales of 180 units. One really has to wonder for how long it will be alone in its segment.

The Camry is doing well!

Finally, in March 2022, premium sedan sales remained strong. Unlike in February 2022, the Skoda Superb (180 units) was on top of the Toyota Camry (120 units), with the latter posting tremendous sales growth.

Will the Ciaz also get the latest infotainment and safety systems upgrade like the Baleno?
