Maruti Ciaz Waiting Period Extends To 5 Months Before Launch

The Maruti Ciaz will be offered in petrol and diesel engine options and currently comes with a waiting period of 2-4 months on the base and mid-range models and 4-5 months on the top-end petrol automatic and diesel models.

Waiting period for the Ciaz sedan extends to almost 5 months on certain variants

Maruti Suzuki has definitely stirred up the right spirits with the Ciaz sedan across the country. Making a big comeback to the premium space after the debacle known as the SX4, the company has received a positive response for the Ciaz garnering 6000+ bookings. However, it now seems that Maruti is having a difficult time keeping up with the exorbitant demand for the sedan even before launch. Available in 6 variants, the Ciaz is commanding a waiting period of as long as 4-5 months on certain variants.

For the Maruti Ciaz petrol VXi, VXi+ and ZXi trims, the waiting period extends to 2-3 months; while the ZXi variant comes with a waiting period of 3-4 months. Surprisingly, the demand for the petrol automatic trims is equally higher and has the VXi AT command a waiting period of 3-4 months, while the ZXi+ AT will take 4-5 months to reach your garage. For those planning to opt for a diesel model, expect the delivery two months after you book the car available in VDi, VDi+ and ZDi trims, while the top-end diesel ZDi+ trim comes with a waiting period of 4-5 months.

Powering the Ciaz is the 1.4-litre K-Series petrol motor producing 92.45 PS at 6000 RPM and 130 Nm of torque at 4000 RPM, paired to a 5-speed manual and a 4-speed automatic gearbox. Diesel duties are performed by the 1.3-litre DDiS unit producing 90 PS at 4000 RPM and 200 Nm of torque at 1750 RPM, paired to only a 5-speed manual transmission. In terms of features, the Ciaz is pretty loaded and comes with projector headlamps, start-stop system, Bluetooth, USB, AUX connectivity, keyless entry, climate control, rear AC vents, electric boot opener, parking sensors, 16-inch alloy wheels and also a Smart plat Infotainment system for the top-end variant.

Maruti will officially launch the Ciaz sedan on 6th October across the country, while deliveries are expected to commence from the next weel itself. Competing against established rivals like the Honda City, Hyundai Verna, Volkswagen Vento and the likes in the C-segment sedan space, the Ciaz is certainly off to a good start and it looks like Maruti might have just cracked the Rs. 8-10 lakh premium car market giving the automaker confidence for its other premium products set to launch in the coming months.
