Mercedes-Maybach S-Class Is A Blend Of Style & Luxury

Mercedes has reinstated the Maybach brand name by unveiling the Maybach S-Class. The sedan is aimed at the rich and those who still crave for more comfort than what a regular S-Class can offer.

The Mercedes-Maybach S-Class will be launched in February 2015

While the Maybach brand died a sad death sometime back, Mercedes has revived the Maybach nameplate by unveiling the new Maybach S-Class. The vehicle is another addition to the existing range of S-Class models made available by the German automaker. The S-Class, as we know, already comes with a lot of features, space and added comfort for its passengers and this Maybach S-Class now takes it a couple of steps further. The sedan gets a long wheelbase for added legroom while rear passengers will also get individual seats. It comes with some exotic goodies like AGARWOOD, which is a Maybach-branded perfume, silver-plated champagne flutes and a voice amplification function that makes it easier for passengers to communicate within themselves.

Mercedes claims that the Maybach S-Class is the world’s quietest production sedan. On the design front, the vehicle does not look too different from other S-Class models. The front and rear carry the same design while the side profile does look longer thanks to its increased length. Mercedes has chosen a great design for the alloys which was earlier seen on older Mercs like the W140 and the likes. These chrome alloys really add a feeling of richness to the vehicle. The B-pillar has also been finished in chrome along with the window surrounds.

The Mercedes-Maybach S-Class will be launched in two trim options. The S500 is powered by a 4.7-litre bi-turbo V8 engine producing 449 HP of power and 700 Nm of torque and a fuel efficiency of 11.23 km/l. The S600 variant gets a 6.0-litre twin-turbo V12 engine giving out 523 HP of power and 830 Nm of torque. Both these variants are RWD but the S500 will get a 4MATIC version in July 2015. Mercedes will launch the Maybach S-Class in February 2015 and it might be introduced in India in the second half of the year.
