Mercedes S63 AMG Coupe Imported To India, Launch Soon

Mercedes S63 AMG Coupe

Mercedes has imported one unit of the right-hand drive Mercedes S63 AMG Coupe to India, signifying that its launch is not that far away.

The S63 AMG coupe is a very attractive proposition in all respects

We had recently brought you the news that Mercedes will be launching the S63 AMG in India in July 2015. Well, the company is also looking to bring the coupe version, the S63 AMG Coupe to India in the near future as well. The German luxury car manufacturer has just imported one unit of the right-hand drive S63 AMG Coupe from its headquarters in Germany. We are certain that this car will soon be launched in our country because Mercedes has always been following the same trend.

The Mercedes S63 AMG Coupe is one hoot of a performance car. The vehicle was unveiled to the world in the month of April and replaced the CL63 AMG model in the lineup. The new S63 AMG coupe is lighter than the CL63 AMG and the S63 sedan by more than 63 kgs and 90 kgs respectively. It is lighter than the aforementioned models thanks to a steel-aluminium hybrid body, a light weight braking system, a lithium-ion battery and signature lightweight AMG wheels.

The stunning car is powered by a humongous 5.5-litre M157, twin-turbo V8 engine that develops 577 BHP at 5500 RPM and 900.2 Nm of torque at 2250 RPM. The engine comes mated to a 7-speed AMG Speedshift MCT transmission and two-thirds of the available thrust is driven to the rear wheels due to the performance-tuned 4MATIC drive system. The car can hit the 100 km/hr mark in just 3.9 seconds and its top speed is rated at 300 km/hr. The coupe rides 0.4 inches lower than its sedan counterpart and also has special compound wheels that has improved the vehicle’s handling around corners.

A head-up display is available as standard and one can also equip the S63 AMG coupe with an optional set of carbon-ceramic brakes. Witnessing rival Audi launching a range of luxury performance vehicles in India, Mercedes will not be sitting idle in the same segment and is looking to bring its range of products to the country as soon as possible, thereby keeping the intense rivalry at its peak.

The 5.5-litre unit is one of the most powerful engines offered from Mercedes at the moment
As it’s derived from the S-Class, the interiors are simply incomparable
The sloping roof resembles the CLA up to some extent, but just look at that rear profile
