The Moto Guzzi V7 Stone ABS will be competing against the Triumph Bonneville, Kawasaki Z800 and the likes. It was showcased at the 2015 India Bike Week.

The Moto Guzzi V7 Stone combines classic retro design with modern tech wizardry

Part of the Piaggio Group that also owns brands like Vespa and Aprilia, Moto Guzzi is a relatively unheard name in the Indian superbike space despite having some really amazing products under its umbrella. Known for its retro-styled products with modern tech on offer, Moto Guzzi will be launching the V7 Stone ABS retro-classic motorcycle in the country and recently imported the model for R&D purposes. The company also showcased the V7 Racer at the recently concluded 2015 India Bike Week (IBW).

The Moto Guzzi V7 Stone is powered by a 744cc, air-cooled, 90-degree V-Twin engine tuned to produce 50 BHP of power at 6200 RPM and 58 Nm of torque at 5000 RPM, paired to a 6-speed gearbox. The classic lines on the V7 Stone are met with features like dual-channel ABS system and MGCT (Moto Guzzi Traction Control). A launch date on the V7 Stone is not confirmed at present.

Moto Guzzi already sells four bikes in the country which include the Bellagio, Griso, Sports 8V and the amazing California 1400. All the bikes are available on demand across India but due to the limited visibility, they usually go unnoticed. There have been reports though of the company expanding its dealership base to more cities from the current two outlets located in Delhi and Pune. Piaggio also showcased the Aprilia Shiver 750 at the IBW this year that could see a launch later in the year.
