New Nissan Evalia ‘Special Variant’ Introduced, Priced At Rs. 11.61 Lakhs

The Nissan Evalia Special Variant adds updates to the exteriors for a more premium look, while the interiors remain the same. The Special Variant is the new top-end trim on the MPV’s lineup.

Changes include all-new grille, front bumper and 10-spoke alloy wheels

In a bid to improve sales, Nissan India has launched the new range topping trim of the Evalia called ‘Special Variant’ with updated exteriors in order to lend a premium appeal to the MPV. The Nissan Evalia Special Variant is priced at Rs. 11,61,930/- (ex-showroom, Delhi). Starting with the front fascia, the Evalia gets an all-new and imposing chrome grille, while the bumper has been completely redesigned for a rather sporty appeal with wide air intakes. The front hood has been updated with a chrome strip that merges with the front grille and the fog lamp enclosures get chrome surrounds to match the overall theme of the special variant.

At the rear, the Nissan Evalia gets new Special Variant badges to boast off along with a new roof spoiler and chrome trimming. The package is completed with 10-spoke alloy wheels which are the only changes to the sides. Moving on to the interiors, the cabin gets no changes and continues with the existing layout. Based on the XV (O) top-end trim, the Special Variant is packed with captain seats in the middle row, roof AC vents in both second and third row, front row assist grip and glove box lid. Tech remains the same and includes the in-dash 2-DIN audio system with USB connectivity, rear wiper, rear defogger and anti-glare internal rear view mirror. The dashboard is finished in faux wood trims, while the third row passengers get map lamps and better fitting carpets to offer more comfort.

No changes have been made under the hood and the Nissan Evalia Special Variant draws power from the same 1.5-litre 4-cylinder dCi diesel engine producing 85 PS of power at 3750 RPM and 200 Nm of torque at 2000 RPM, paired to a 5-speed manual transmission. The MPV is equipped with ABS, EBD, Brake Assist and dual front airbags as standard, while the fuel efficiency figure stands at an ARAI certified 19.3 km/l.

Nissan stated that the automaker has been making changes to the Evalia time and again based on customer feedback over the last two years, and the new variant has been launched in a bid to offer something new. Facing immense heat from the Honda Mobilio, the Evalia has not really lived up to its expectations in the country despite being a successful product overseas. However, the new top-end trim might just fancy a few customers during the festive season, especially with a range of features on offer.
