Nissan considering to introduce Patrol in India to build brand.

The Nissan Patrol will be brought in as a CBU import

The Nissan Patrol is the Japanese carmaker’s flagship SUV which is very popular in the UAE market. They are now considering to introduce the Patrol in India via CBU.

It’ll be launched under the new CBU rule wherein a manufacturer can import up to 2500 units without homologation for India. The flagship SUV will help build the brand in India with a premium image.

Nissan has been considering to launch the Patrol in India since quite a few years. They even conducted a test drive for the media and potential customers a few years back in its pre-facelift avatar.

It is likely to be offered in a single range topping variant that comes with all the bells and whistles and a huge 5.6-litre, V8 petrol engine that produces 405 HP and 560 Nm, mated to a 7-speed automatic transmission with AWD system.

The Nissan Patrol is a huge SUV measuring 5.1 metre in length and 2 metre in width. It’ll go up against the Lexus LX and Toyota Land Cruiser in India with an expected price tag of over Rs. 1.5 crores (ex-showroom).
