Pulsar NS 160 Rear Disc Brake Variant Launched, Priced At Rs. 82,630/-

The bike has begun reaching the showrooms and is priced at a slight premium over the single disc brake version.

Bajaj Pulsar NS 160 rear disc brake variant has been spotted at a dealership in Pune

Bajaj has finally decided to give the Pulsar NS 160 a rear disc brake and the bike has already been spotted at a dealership in Pune. Since the bike was launched almost a year ago, two things that have prevented the bike from being a complete package have been the lack of a rear disc brake and those skinny tyres. Bajaj has listened to the demand and decided to give one of those features in the form of a rear disc brake.

The reason for Bajaj not launching the Pulsar NS 160 rear disc brake variant earlier was to get a good entry-level pricing for the motorcycle to attract the more price-conscious customers. The new variant thus has a price tag of Rs. 82,630/- (ex-showroom, Pune) which is Rs. 2130/- more than the single disc variant.

This happens to be the only change on the new variant though. The Bajaj Pulsar NS 160 with a rear disc brake will continue to be powered by a 160cc single-cylinder, 4-valve, oil-cooled engine that produces 15.5 HP at 8500 RPM and 14.6 Nm of torque at 6500 RPM. Transmission duties are handled by a 5-speed gearbox.

The bike features split seats, split grab rails, split LED tail-lamp and an underbelly exhaust. Suspension duties are done via a telescopic fork up front and a monoshock at the rear. Although the standard bike weighs 142 kgs, the rear disc brake version is expected to gain 1-2 kgs because of the added hardware.

Bajaj will start retailing this bike just in time for the 2018 festive season to keep the buyers coming in. The Pulsar NS 160 rivals the Suzuki Gixxer, Apache RTR 160 4V and the Honda CB Hornet 160R and the added rear disc brake will make it an even more worthy competitor.
