Renault Compact MPV & EV For India Confirmed

Renault Compact MPV

The company is readying a sub-4 meter compact MPV and, perhaps, a Kwid-based electric vehicle.

The Renault Kwid will be distributed in four new variant, one of which will be an EV

Renault compact MPV & EV for India have been confirmed, which will arrive in the country till 2022. In a recent teaser image being circulated by Renault, which reads ‘Drive the Future’, mentions that a new compact MPV is on the company’s list for India. Another product to arrive here is an electric vehicle which is one among the total eight such vehicles which Renault will introduce by 2022.

The EV in question will be built on the brand’s CMF-A platform which is lucrative as compared to others. As for the vehicle on which this car will be based, the company is reportedly planning to scatter the Kwid from one to four models and one of them will be running electrically. As the Kwid is already a success in India. building an electric version of it should only add to the car’s value.

Moving on to the compact MPV, we have previously reported that the company is planning to make such move in the coming days. This is now confirmed by the teaser image being published by Renault which shows the company’s future strategy for India, along with a few other countries. India has already come across an MPV from Renault, the Lodgy, which couldn’t manage to yield considerable results. But, the company doesn’t seem to give up on this concept and will try its luck one more time. This MPV will measure less than 4 meters in length which will be a benefit in the tax department as longer cars attract more duties.

The company’s current portfolio consists of three models with a fourth, Renault Captur, about to be added. Till 2022, India will get four more vehicles from this brand which includes aforementioned two vehicles and the remaining two are yet to be revealed by the company.
