The new Royal Enfield store has opened at Khan Market in New Delhi

Royal Enfield has revealed the limited edition Classic 500 at its new dealership in Khan market, New Delhi. Being limited edition models, production of these special Classic 500 motorcycles has been limited to 200 units and will be available in three colour options which include Desert Storm Despatch, Squadron Blue Despatch and Military Green Despatch. The latter though will not be sold in India and has been restricted for the global markets as the Indian military does not allow this colour to be used for civilian use. The Military green though does seem to be the most desirable colour here.

The limited edition Royal Enfield Classic 500 bikes get a special badging on the left-hand side that indicates the production number on the model and also tells you that the motorcycle was built at the company’s Oragadam facility, near Chennai. On the right, the panel gets a leather strap which certainly looks vintage and classy. In addition, the limited edition Classic 500s get the tan coloured single seat that adds to the military feel of the bike while the exhaust pipe and engine have been finished in black.

In terms of specifications, the Classic 500 gets no changes under the belly with power coming from the same 499cc single-cylinder engine that produces 27.2 BHP and 41.3 Nm of torque, paired to a 5-speed gearbox. The bike gets telescopic front forks and twin gas charged shocks at the rear. Stopping performance comes from the 280 mm front disc and 153 mm drum brake at the rear. Royal Enfield will be listing these special edition models online for sale on 15th July 2015, with prices to be announced on the same day. The bike maker has also introduced a vast range of gear collection inspired by the Despatch Riders of the World Wars.
