Royal Enfield launches their first EV in India, the Flying Flea C6 starting from Bangalore

Royal Enfield has officially entered the electric motorcycle segment with the launch of the Flying Flea C6 in India, priced at Rs. 2.79 lakh (ex-showroom). Buyers can also opt for a Battery-as-a-Service plan, which brings the effective price down to Rs. 1.99 lakh. The Flying Flea C6 is the first model under Royal Enfield’s new Flying Flea electric sub-brand and marks the company’s first-ever electric motorcycle. Inspired by the original Flying Flea motorcycle used during World War II, the modern C6 combines neo-retro styling with an all-new electric platform, advanced rider aids and connected technology. The motorcycle will initially be sold through the first Flying Flea store in Jayanagar, Bengaluru. Bookings will commence from 12 noon on April 10, while deliveries are scheduled to begin towards the end of May 2026. Royal Enfield has confirmed that the Flying Flea range will be rolled out in city-by-city fashion.

Powertrain and performance

The Flying Flea C6 is powered by a 3.91 kWh lithium-ion battery pack paired with a permanent magnet synchronous motor. The motor produces 15.4 kW of peak power with a continuous output of 8 kW and 60 Nm of torque, while torque at the rear wheel is claimed to exceed 400 Nm. The FF.C6 has a claimed top speed of 115 km/hr and can accelerate from 0-60 km/hr in 3.7 seconds. Royal Enfield claims an IDC range of 152-162 km on a single charge. Charging can be carried out through a standard 16 amp household socket. The C6 supports Rapid, Standard and Trickle charging modes, which can be selected through the mobile application. Royal Enfield states that the battery can be charged from 20 to 80 percent in just over 60 minutes, while a full 0-100 percent charge takes a little above 2 hours. The motorcycle also uses regenerative braking to improve efficiency and extend range.

Chassis, suspension and dimensions

The Flying Flea C6 has been designed to be light and compact, with a kerb weight of just 124 kg, making it the lightest motorcycle in Royal Enfield’s current lineup. The bike is built around a new electric platform and features a forged aluminium chassis along with magnesium components for the battery housing and body detailing. One of the most distinctive elements is the front suspension setup. The C6 uses a forged aluminium Girder fork at the front, inspired by the original Flying Flea from the 1940s. Royal Enfield says it is currently the only production motorcycle to feature this type of suspension. At the rear, the motorcycle uses a monoshock setup. The Flying Flea C6 rides on 19-inch wheels at both ends, wrapped in 90-section tubeless tyres. Braking duties are handled by a 260 mm front disc and a 220 mm rear disc with switchable rear ABS system. Dimensionally, the C6 has a seat height of 823 mm and a ground clearance of 207 mm.

Design and colours

The motorcycle features a circular LED headlamp, a floating single seat, a minimalist tail section and sculpted battery housing. The battery fins have been specially designed to create a wing-like motif, intended to represent the connection between the Flying Flea’s historic roots and its modern electric future. Other unique design highlights include an articulating front mudguard, exposed forged aluminium frame sections and a round touchscreen instrument console. The Flying Flea C6 will be available in two colour options – Flea Green and Storm Black

Features, safety and rider aids

The Flying Flea C6 comes equipped with a 3.5-inch round TFT touchscreen display with smartphone connectivity. The display can be controlled through a dedicated direction pad-style switchgear. The motorcycle offers Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and 4G connectivity, enabling over-the-air software updates, remote monitoring, live location sharing and connected navigation. Royal Enfield has equipped the Flying Flea C6 with five riding modes – City, Rain, Highway, Sport and Custom. The bike also gets adjustable regenerative braking specially in the Custom mode, cruise control from 10 km/hr, voice assist, a programmable shortcut button and an industry-first rotary mode selector on the left grip. The rider assistance and safety systems include lean-sensitive dual-channel ABS, traction control, cornering traction control, tip-over detection and a switchable rear ABS function. Additional features include live vehicle tracking, remote diagnostics, a kill switch and emergency location sharing.
