Royal Enfield is coming up with a new motorcycle codenamed J1D. The bike is likely to be the new entry-level model from the Indian bike maker which is scheduled to launch by April end.

The company has filed multiple names for trademark including Hunter, Sherpa, Flying Flea and Roadster. The new model could be one of those, which is most likely to be targeted at a wider audience.

It could also be a new generation bike replacing the Royal Enfield Thunderbird or a smaller capacity version of the Royal Enfield Himalayan.

With the dwindling sales of the Indian bike maker, they are preparing to introduce a range of new and updated motorcycles along with BS6 transition.

The need of the hour for Royal Enfield currently is a mass market bike which appeals to all with an affordable price tag. The rumoured 250cc lightweight bike for younger audience would do the job of churning out higher volumes for the company.

Only time will tell which segment does this new bike codenamed J1D belongs to. It could be a roadster, it could be an adventure bike or even a cruiser motorcycle.
