Suzuki had displayed the iV-4 concept last year and the SUV looked impressive. Finally, the Japanese automaker has revealed one picture of the production model of the SUV and it has been given it the nameplate Vitara. The Vitara will be slotted below the Grand Vitara and it is not a replacement for the same. In overseas markets, the Vitara will sit between the Jimny and Grand Vitara. Suzuki will be displaying the Vitara SUV to the public at the Paris Motor Show that will be held in October 2014.

From the looks of it, the Vitara carries a bold front and the grille is big and prominent. The front air dam is big in size too. The headlights look distinct and seem to carry a slight blue tinge to them. The lower part of the bumper gets fog lamps and DRLs. The ORVMs have turn indicators integrated in them. The alloys carry a nice and sporty design. Suzuki has blacked out the A, B and C-pillars and the roof is also given an all-black treatment which adds to the sportiness of the SUV.

Suzuki has stated that the Vitara will be offered in a range of colour and trim options. Buyers will be able to customise their vehicles. While the Suzuki Vitara competes with the Opel Mokka and Nissan Juke overseas, it will fight it out with the Ford EcoSport, Hyundai ix25, Renault Duster and Nissan Terrano in India. The SUV will be more than 4-metres in length and hence it will not qualify for tax benefits but Maruti will surely manage to price it right. Don’t you think the design takes a lot of influence from the Range Rover Evoque?
