Suzuki Launches GSX-R1000 WSBK Replica Voltcom Crescent Edition

Suzuki is known for churning out limited and special edition versions of their motorcycles throughout the world. First came the GSX-R600 with the Tyco Suzuki replica and then came the Yoshimura GSX-R750 edition and now something new has just been launched. Suzuki has announced details of a limited edition GSX-R1000 World Superbike replica. This edition will be limited to just 25 pieces and is called the Voltcom Crescent Edition.

These GSX-R1000s are ridden by Alex Lowes and Eugene Laverty in the World Superbike Championship, the limited edition models also come with a GB Racing engine covers, Yoshimura R77 exhaust and a single seat cowl signed personally by both the riders. Needless to say they look quite exotic despite the same design as on the WBSK machines, the sport being very close to most rider’s heart as it is the most practical and real races in the world today. WBSK bikes are purely stripped down versions of stock bikes with minute updates here and there.

The GSX-R1000 continues to be powered by a 999cc engine producing around 180 BHP and thumping out 113 Nm of torque at very high RPM making it a screamer like any other bike in the segment. The GSX-R1000 weighs around 205 kgs and is still one of the best litre class machines you can buy today. The motorcycle is known for its brutal power, docile nature and well crafted ergonomics. This livery will sadly not come to India as it is only for the Europeans and Americans. You can buy the GSX-R1000 in India for under Rs. 20 lakhs or if you just want the name, you can get that too with the upcoming 155cc Gixxer.
