Suzuki SV650 Could Be Launched In India

Suzuki is looking to expand its 2-wheeler line-up in India with the launch of the SV650.

The SV650 will be added to Suzuki’s line-up of CKD bikes in India

With the new BS6 norms coming into effect soon, all manufacturers will be upgrading their products to comply with these norms and Suzuki 2-Wheelers will also be making their products BS6-compliant. Suzuki launched the V-Strom 650 in India in 2018 and the motorcycle was well-received considering its segment.

Now, it has been learnt that Suzuki is considering the SV650 for an India launch. The motorcycle will be launched via the CKD route. The company had showcased the latest version of the bike internationally sometime back and it is likely that we’ll get the MY2020 model here.

The Suzuki SV650 comes with a 645cc, V-Twin motor churning out 76 PS and 64 Nm. While it doesn’t traction control, the SV650 gets ABS and Suzuki’s Low RPM Assist system. The styling of the bike is very attractive and with this design, it blends in retro elements with a lot of modern touches.

Suzuki could price the SV650 in the whereabouts of Rs. 6 lakhs (ex-showroom). It will compete with a variety of motorcycles like the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650, Kawasaki Z650 and CFMoto’s offerings.
