Exclusive – 2021 Tata Safari Completely Revealed Ahead Of Launch

The new Tata Safari gets a lot of chrome unlike the Harrier

Finally after a lot of wait, the Gravi… umm.. the new generation ‘Tata Safari’ is all set for its 2021 debut. While the iconic nameplate has caught tremendous attention, it is yet to be seen if the fad will last long enough or not.

While the studio shots of the exteriors are out and we have seen a glimpse of the interior in AR form, here’s a detailed look of the Tata Safari 2021 in these spy shots revealing a few more details.

MotorBeamer Shreyash sent us these images which gives us an idea about how does the new Safari look in real world conditions.

The Harrier and the new Safari look exactly the same from the front. To differentiate the two, Tata has given the three-row SUV a big dose of chrome up front. While some find it a premium touch, I personally think it looks a tad too shiny.

The wheelbase remains the same but the length is 63 mm longer to accommodate the third-row. It is 80 mm taller as well thanks to the stepped roof for adding more headroom.

The rear profile looks a bit different from the Harrier thanks to the new tail lights and unique D-pillar design.

Now the interior is similar too but it will get Oyster white upholstery along with ash wood trim on the dashboard. The dash looks the same with similar details and features. However, you can notice in these spy shots the addition of Auto Hold function for the automatic transmission and electronic parking brakes!

Tata Motors will be offering both 6-seater and 7-seater options for the new Safari. The middle-row will get captain seats with individual arm rest for the 6-seater version. The 7-seater will come with a bench seat in the middle.

A new detail to notice here is the inclusion of C-pillar mounted AC vents for the third row passengers. The Safari is expected to come with a powered tailgate as well. You can also notice a huge panoramic sunroof in the spy shots.

Connected car features will be offered with the Safari including – Alerts and Notifications, Health Check, Over The Air updates, Safety and Security, and Remote Commands.

The engine will be the same 2.0-litre Kryotec turbo diesel producing 170 PS and 350 Nm of torque. It will be offered with 6-speed manual and automatic transmission options.

The new Tata Safari is expected to be priced around Rs. 2 lakhs more premium over the Harrier. Bookings are likely to commence from 26th January onwards while the market launch is expected sometime in February.
