Tata Safari is a full-size sports utility vehicle (SUV) manufactured by Tata Motors since 1998. The Tata Safari has a huge cult following in India for its masculine design, off road capabilities and huge presence on road. The Tata Safari has been updated mechanically and cosmetically since its launch. The Tata Safari has seen two generations and the current generation is called Tata Safari Storme that was launched in 2012. Powering the Tata Safari Storme is a 2.2-litre VariCOR diesel engine that produces 140 BHP of maximum power and 320 Nm of peak torque, mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. The Tata Safari Storme has electronic shift-on-fly four-wheel drive mechanism with limited slip differential.
