May 2023 car sales witnesses very minor changes in top 25 positions

May 2023 top 25 car sales list revealed. It includes 10 cars from Maruti Suzuki, 4 cars from Hyundai and Tata, 3 cars from Mahindra, 2 cars from Kia and Toyota.

The top selling car of last month is the Maruti Baleno clocking 18,733 units followed by Swift at 17,346 units and then Wagon R at 16,258 units. Maruti Suzuki has held the top 3 positions.

Hyundai Creta is the highest selling SUV at 14,449 units followed by Tata Nexon on 5th position with 14,423 units sold. The direct rival of Nexon, Maruti Brezza is close behind at 13,398 units sales.

Maruti Eeco is a consistent seller thanks to its popularity in the commercial segment. It has scored 12,818 units last month. Following closely is the Dzire at 11,315 units which is popular in both private and commercial vehicle segments.

Tata Punch is getting quite popular amongst the first time car buyers, it has scored 11,124 units last month. Let’s wait and watch the segment after Hyundai introduces the Exter.

Maruti Ertiga is at the 10th spot with 10,528 unit sales. The Hyundai Venue is selling well at 10,213 units with 23 percent year on year growth. Maruti Fronx is the new kid in the block and selling well in its second consecutive month at 9863 units.

Maruti Alto is surprisingly down the order on 13th position, sold 9368 units. Mahindra is spinning out big volumes with the Scorpio and Scorpio N combo, witnessing 114 percent growth.

Maruti Grand Vitara holds the 15th position with 8877 units. Kia Sonet does 8251 units, much lower than its Korean sibling Venue. Mahindra Bolero along with the Neo variants doing 8170 units last month.

Tata has sold 8133 units of Tiago last month and this includes CNG, petrol and electric versions of the hatch. Toyota has witnessed the maximum growth last month for the Innova Crysta and HyCross duo with 7776 units sold and 184 percent YoY growth.

Hyundai Grand i10 Nios a bit down the order at 6385 units. Kia Carens did well last month at 6367 units and 38 percent growth. Even the Hyundai i20 managed good numbers of 6094 units and 37 percent growth. Closely followed by its direct rival Tata Altroz at 5420 units.

Mahindra managed to sell 5245 units of the XUV700 last month. Toyota Glanza takes the 25th spot at 5179 units.
