Toyota introduces Rumion E variant, reducing entry price by Rs. 95,000/-
Toyota has expanded the Rumion MPV lineup with the introduction of a new entry-level E variant in India. Priced at Rs. 9.56 lakhs (ex-showroom), the addition of this trim lowers the starting price of the Rumion by Rs. 95,000/- compared to the earlier base variant.
With this update, the Rumion is now offered in four variants: E, S, G and V. Prices for the MPV continue to go up to Rs. 13.86 lakhs for the higher trims, which remain unchanged.
The newly introduced E trim is positioned as the most affordable version in the range and is available exclusively with a petrol engine paired with a manual transmission.
In terms of features, the E variant offers a relatively basic equipment list. Exterior highlights include projector halogen headlamps, LED tail lamps and 15-inch steel wheels. The model also gets all four power windows and essential safety features.
Safety equipment includes six airbags, hill hold assist and rear parking sensors. However, to maintain the lower price point, the variant does not include some features available in higher trims. These include rear AC vents, powered outside rearview mirrors, an adjustable inside rearview mirror and an infotainment system with speakers.
The Rumion E trim is powered by a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine producing 103 hp. It is paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox. Unlike some of the higher variants, this version is not offered with an automatic transmission option and also does not come with a factory-fitted CNG option.
In the Indian market, the Toyota Rumion competes with other three-row MPVs such as the Maruti Ertiga, Maruti XL6, Kia Carens and Kia Carens Clavis.
