Vespa Notte 125 Launched In India, Priced At Rs. 70,285/-

The Notte 125 is basically a Vespa LX 125 dipped in matte black colour.

The Vespa Notte 125 also gets slightly bigger tyres which give it better road presence

The Vespa Notte 125 scooter has been launched in India by Piaggio. The scooter is priced At Rs. 70,285/- (ex-showroom, Delhi). It is based on the Vespa LX 125 and was first showcased at the 2018 Auto Expo.

Looking at the scooter, one wonders if the name is based on the looks of the scooter or is it the other way around. ‘Notte’ is an Italian word which means night and looking at the paint job, Piaggio couldn’t have named the scooter any better.

The Vespa Notte 125 uses chrome in minimal places while rest everything on the scooter has been dipped in matte black paint. Even the wheels are blacked out. There are steel grab rails for the pillion which too are black. This does give the scooter a sophisticated appeal and is sure to attract youngsters.

Powering the scooter is the same 125cc engine with an aluminium cylinder head which is already seen on the existing 125cc scooters from Vespa. This engine delivers a maximum power of 10 HP at 7500 RPM and a peak torque of 10.06 Nm at 6000 RPM.

Features include 3-spoke alloys finished in black paint. It also gets a modern digital / analogue console, 110/70/11 tyre at the front and 120/70/10 tyre at the rear, both of which are tubeless. The scooter also gets a steel frame that has a monocoque construction.

The Vespa range of scooters have a considerable fanbase in India and enjoys its fair share of following. The launch of the Vespa Notte 125 should help in keeping those customers intact while adding more to the base. Though the competition is stiff in the 125cc scooter segment, the Notte 125 is still expected to perform well. The Vespa Notte 125 rivals the recently launched Suzuki Burgman Street, Honda Activa 125, TVS Ntorq 125 and its own distant cousin, the Aprilia SR 125.
