Victory To Launch Motorcycles In India

The Indian superbike scene is seeing launches like no other and the latest to join the fray would be Victory Motorcycles, a motorcycle manufacturer based in Minnesota, United States and owner by Polaris Industries, which is a manufacturer of snowmobiles, ATV, and neighborhood electric vehicles. The company began production of its vehicles in 1998, which are designed to compete directly with Harley Davidson. Victory makes bikes with V-twin engines and touring, sport-touring, and cruiser configurations. Victory will set up its company in India by the second half of this year and will launch its cruiser bikes in 2012. It will be completely imported initially but Victory plans to setup an assembly unit in India.

The Victory Hammer (pictured above) is priced at $17,799/- in the United States. The Hammer features inverted front fork, removable passenger seat cowl, multi-LED tail light, dual disc brakes, 18-inch wheels, 250mm rear tire and chopped rear fender. The muscle bike is powered by a 1.8 liter V-Twin engine with 4-valve overhead cams producing 97hp of power. It is mated to a 6-speed gearbox and is expected to be priced north of Rs. 15 lakhs.
