Volkswagen Polo & Vento IPL Edition II Launched

Volkswagen has announced the IPL Edition II variants of the Polo and Vento for the 5th season of the Indian Premiere League, which starts next month. The IPL edition will be available on select variants, offering more features for no extra price. The company has not yet revealed the details on the variants but the vehicles are already on display at Volkswagen showrooms across the country. Deliveries of these vehicles will start only next month though and the German automaker is using cricket as a medium to promote its bread and butter models to prospective customers.

2012 Volkswagen Polo and Vento IPL Edition II Features

Is Volkswagen trying really hard or competition is affecting the sales of their cars. The Polo used to sell decently but the arrival of the new Maruti Suzuki Swift has hurt it quite a bit. Furthermore Hyundai’s minor facelift to the i20 has led to people shifting towards the i20, which offers more space and power compared to the Polo. An upgrade for the Polo has been expected for quite some time now, but with no upgrade in sight, buyers have had to look elsewhere. The Vento too is suffering loss of sales post the launch of the Fluidic Verna, while its own sibling the Skoda Rapid has eaten into its market share. Volkswagen also launched a Breeze edition recently and is slowly going the Maruti way as far as limited edition variants go!
