The Tiguan is based on the MQB platform that is shared with the Passat and Skoda Octavia

Volkswagen had displayed an array of new products at the recent 2016 Auto Expo and one of them was the Tiguan SUV. The Tiguan is a premium vehicle and is also the first Volkswagen SUV to be based on the flexible MQB platform. The vehicle has now been spotted at a dealership’s stockyard in Bangalore. The Volkswagen Tiguan will be offered with a choice of both petrol as well as diesel engines. Both the engines will be offered with a DSG automatic transmission and the vehicle will be offered in both front-wheel-drive as well as 4MOTION AWD trims. The Tiguan will be launched in India in 2017 and apart from this, Volkswagen will also launch the Passat, Polo GTI and Ameo in India in the near future.
