Volvo S90 launched in India with a price tag of Rs. 53.5 lakhs. It comes with a single Inscription variant at the time of the launch.

Volvo S90 launched, replaces the ageing S80 sedan

Volvo has launched the S90 sedan in India, which is priced at Rs. 53.5 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi). The mid-size luxury sedan is the longest, widest and has the largest wheelbase in its segment. The Volvo S90 competes with the Mercedes E-Class, BMW 5-Series, Audi A6 and Jaguar XF.

In terms of looks, the S90 is elegantly designed and offers a luxurious appearance. The front profile gets a huge grille with sleek looking headlights integrating Thor hammer shaped LED DRLs. The side profile makes it look quite lengthy while the rear gets C-shaped unique tail lamp cluster.

The interiors look similar to the new XC90 SUV but offer some unique touches. It comes with a huge iPad like 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system display that offers a range of connectivity options. The Bowers & Wilkins audio system is a big USP of the car. The S90 comes loaded with active and passive safety features on offer.

Powering the Volvo S90 is a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder diesel engine that produces 190 BHP and 400 Nm of torque, mated to a 8-speed automatic transmission. Volvo is expected to launch petrol and bigger diesel engine options next year in India with radar based technologies.
